We can help!

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance San Francisco (DBSASF) was started to empower people with mood disorders, and their friends and family members, through peer support, education, and advocacy. We welcome all who live with mood disorders, or who love someone with a mood disorder, regardless of age, race, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, or income.

DBSASF was founded in 1988 and is the San Francisco chapter of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (www.dbsalliance.org). DBSA was founded in 1986 and is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to educate patients, families, professionals and the public concerning the nature of depression and bipolar disorder as medical diseases; to foster self-help for patients and families; to eliminate discrimination and stigma; to improve the availability and quality of help and support; and to advocate for research toward the elimination of these illnesses.

Mission Statement: We exist to support, empower and advocate for people with mood disorders and their family and friends through education, information, and peer support groups in a way that is sensitive and responsive to their needs, so that every person has a safe, caring environment, thus enhancing the quality of life for all.
